Who we help Physicians

Who we help

Financial planning for Oklahoma physicians, from the first attending contract to the sale of the practice.

Your income is clinical, which means it is taxed before it ever reaches you and it depends on you showing up. Somewhere ahead is a buy-in, a surgery-center stake, or a sale. Behind you may be loans and a decade of deferred everything. We work with anesthesiologists, surgeons, orthopedic specialists and the groups they own, and we plan for the career, the practice and the family at the same time.

Does Baldwin Financial work with physicians in Oklahoma City?

Yes. Baldwin Financial is a fee-only advisory firm and fiduciary investment adviser in downtown Oklahoma City that works with anesthesiologists, surgeons, specialists and the practices they own across Oklahoma City, Edmond and Nichols Hills. The work covers employment contracts and compensation, student loans, practice and surgery-center buy-ins, tax planning on clinical income, coverage review, and the eventual transition, held together in one relationship with Jeremy D. Baldwin. Client assets are held at Altruist. CRD #324725.

What we see

Moments we recognize.

The first attending contract, signed without anyone pricing the non-compete or the tail coverage.

A buy-in offer with a valuation, a loan and a K-1 nobody explained.

Income that doubled and a tax bill that tripled.

Disability coverage bought in residency that no longer matches the income it is meant to replace.

A surgery-center opportunity with a regulatory question attached.

Questions we get

Asked often enough to answer here.

Do you work with employed physicians or only owners?

Both. The questions differ, and we start with yours.

I am still in training. Is it too early?

No. Residents and fellows with a clear path to our minimum are exactly who we want to start with, and the decisions in the first attending year are the ones that compound.

Will you work with my practice’s CPA?

Yes, with your authorization, on the decisions that affect your personal finances.

What does it cost?

Fee-only advisory: an advisory fee that typically starts around 1% of managed assets and steps down as assets grow, quoted in writing before anything is signed. No minimum fee; our minimum is $250,000 in managed assets or a clear path to it.

An invitation

Tell us where you are.
We will tell you what we would look at first.

A complimentary conversation, by video, phone, or in person in downtown Oklahoma City, whenever suits you. Nothing to prepare and nothing to bring. Come as you are; leave knowing more than you arrived with.

What the conversation looks like

  1. 01

You talk. What you own, what you owe, who depends on you, and whatever is coming up that you have not solved yet.

  2. 02

We tell you what we see. The two or three things we would look at first, and why those and not the rest.

  3. 03

You decide, on your own time. If we are not the right fit, we will say so and point you toward someone who is.
